Bronze and silver coin or medallion-type amulets are collected with a passion by Thais, just as one would collect coins or stamps. Almost every major temple commissions the casting of a limited number of such amulets which portray famous images of the Buddha, famous monks and Thai Kings, the backs often adorned with sacred Yahn symbols that give them added protective powers.
